It is with a heart full of joy that I write this post this morning. On Wednesday, August 15, 2012, inTouch Inc., made its first donations of iPads to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital both located in Manhattan. Each hospital received four iPads for patient use. Memorial Sloan Kettering will be lending the iPads to patients at their Patients’ Library and Recreation Center, while New York Presbyterian Hospital will be lending their iPads to its oncology patients while they are under care at the Infusion Center.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Greg Kachejian, Coordinator of MSKCC’s Patients’ Library; New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center’s Susan Karch, Director of Oncology Nursing; Suzanne Boyle, Vice President of Patient Care Services and Laura Pedersen, Office of Development. Without them this feat could not have been accomplished. To all of you who have so generously donated to inTouch, we thank you. And, to all the patients who will have the opportunity to borrow the iPads while being hospitalized, our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families and it is our wish that being able to stay in touch helps your journey in some small way.
If you haven’t donated yet, please consider doing so at this time. It is our goal to bring this program to many more area hospitals and we cannot do it without your generous support.
